Director Ram Gopal Varma may be the first and fastest in Tollywood to make realistic movies based on controversial topics. As expected, RGV’s latest film based on the Shamshabad Disha rape and murder case, Disha’s Encounter, has landed in a controversy.
Interacting with a popular Telugu news channel, Disha’s father demanded RGV to scrap the film entirely and also delete the film’s recently released trailer. The grieving father said that it’s inhuman to exploit a young girl and her family’s tragedy and make a film out of it.
With this, RGV has once again faced a similar setback after Murder, a film based on the sensational Nalgonda honor killing. It remains to be seen if RGV will oblige Disha’s father’s demand or take the legal route to ensure his film’s release. Disha’s Encourage is slated to release on November 26.
