Director Venky Atluri delivered one of his finest films with Lucky Baskhar, released around a couple of years ago. He is currently promoting his upcoming film, Vishwanath and Sons.
Although Venky confirmed last year that a sequel for Lucky Baskhar was in development, he has now revealed a clearer timeline for the project.
The director said Lucky Baskhar 2 will begin only after he completes his next two films. The first is a cop action drama starring Dhanush, while the second is a children’s adventure inspired by the spirit of Disney animated films with a Home Alone-style setup.
Venky also stressed that Lucky Baskhar 2 carries huge expectations, and he doesn’t want to rush the sequel. He wants to take enough time to develop the script before taking it to the sets.
This means Dulquer Salmaan is set to return as Lucky Baskhar, but fans will have to wait a little longer, as the sequel is expected to go on floors only after Venky wraps up his next two projects. More details are expected in due course.
