Obsession has emerged as one of the year’s biggest breakout hits. Made on a modest budget, Curry Barker’s psychological horror thriller exceeded expectations and delivered a strong theatrical run.
The film was originally expected to arrive on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms earlier. However, its box office success reportedly led to a delay in the digital release plan. The film is now expected to make its digital debut on June 30, 2026.
There is, however, a catch for Indian audiences. Despite the film’s popularity in the country and its continued dominance in BookMyShow’s hourly sales charts, its digital availability in India will depend on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple, and BMS Stream securing streaming rights. Reports suggest that Telugu and other regional-language versions could also be made available.
Starring Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette in the lead roles, the film has received positive responses from audiences, with Navarrette earning particular praise for her performance.
Obsession is also nearing the Rs. 100 crore mark in India, a remarkable achievement for a Hollywood film without major star power and one that few comparable titles have managed in recent years.
