The latest box-office sensation, Obsession, has now become the second-highest-grossing Hollywood horror film in India. The movie surpassed Final Destination: Bloodlines to grab the second spot, with around Rs. 65 crore nett collected so far.
The psychological horror film directed by Curry Barker is now trailing only The Conjuring: Last Rites, which earned Rs. 83.40 crore nett during its lifetime run. Interestingly, despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews, The Conjuring: Last Rites secured the top spot largely due to the franchise’s brand power.
With its consistent box-office run, Obsession appears well on track to become the highest-grossing Hollywood horror film in India. For a small-budget film to come this far is no small feat. Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette played the lead roles.
