On the occasion of Father’s Day, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has launched Meer Foundation, an NGO named after his father. The foundation strives to rehabilitate women who faced acid attacks. In a tweet, SRK also introduced the foundation’s website http://meerfoundation.org/
Talking about his new initiative, Shah Rukh said that people around him have given him several opportunities to flourish in life and that he wants to do exactly the same for others, especially women. “My dream is to create an ecosystem that allows women, regardless of their history, to redefine, redo, or rework their lives the way they choose, the way they see fit,” SRK said on the foundation’s website.
