Thovva:
The slice-of-life Telugu web film Thovva, starring Little Icon Bhanu in the lead role, along with Purna Chandra and Monika Busam in other roles, was released yesterday, January 4, 2026, on ETV Win. Rahul Panchika is the director of this new addition to the Katha Sudha series.
Shark Tank India Season 5:
Shark Tank India Season 5 premieres today, January 5, 2026, on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television, bringing back popular sharks along with new investors as fresh startups pitch for funding and mentorship. Unfortunately, the Hindi show is unavailable to watch in Telugu.
Tron-Ares:
This movie turned out to be a big jolt for Disney, with around Rs. 1000 crore reportedly lost on this project, which serves as a threequel to Tron. Joachim Rønning directed the film, with Jared Leto in the lead role. The movie is arriving on January 7, 2026, on Jio Hotstar in English and there is no update on Telugu version at this moment.
Constable Kanakam Season 2:
Varsha Bollamma-starrer mystery thriller Constable Kanakam has been renewed for a second season. The OTT platform ETV Win announced its arrival on January 8, 2026, bringing fresh episodes. Prasanth Kumar Dimmala is the helmer of this series.
Weapons:
The Hollywood horror sensation, directed by Zach Cregger, made about $230 million at the box office and is finally arriving for streaming without any extra rental cost. Jio Hotstar announced its streaming date as January 8, 2026, and it will be available only in English.
Akhanda 2-Thaandavam:
After many hurdles, Akhanda 2 was released in theatres. The Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu combo helped the film get decent openings, but it failed to shine big at the box office. It is now confirmed to arrive on Netflix on January 9, 2026, in Telugu, Hindi, and other major Indian languages.
Freedom at Midnight Season 2:
Freedom at Midnight Season 2 is the second chapter of the Indian historical drama series set to stream from January 9, 2026, exclusively on Sony LIV. Sidhant Gupta, Chirag Vohra, Rajendra Chawla, and others will return in this series, which explores the story after India’s Independence and Partition. A Telugu version is also confirmed for this Nikkhil Advani-created series.
De De Pyaar De 2:
Starring Ajay Devgn, the romantic comedy failed to match the success of the first part and is now ready to premiere on Netflix on January 9, 2026. Directed by Anshul Sharma, the film features Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, and there will be no Telugu release.
Mask:
The Tamil dark comedy thriller Mask, starring Kavin and Andrea Jeremiah, is slated for its OTT debut on ZEE5 on January 9, 2026. Vikarnan Ashok directed this below-average film, which will be available only in Tamil.
Honeymoon Se Hatya:
Honeymoon Se Hatya is a Hindi true-crime docudrama confirmed to stream on ZEE5 from January 9, 2026. The five-episode series explores real-life marital murder cases, examining the relationships and motives that led to shocking crimes. For now, there is no update on its Telugu version.
