Rashmika Mandanna’s Hindi horror comedy Thamma is running successfully in theatres. Meanwhile, the actress’s Telugu romantic drama The Girl Friend is gearing up to hit the big screens on November 7. The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Rahul Ravindran.
While the makers are set to drop the theatrical trailer tomorrow, we have learnt that the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Netflix for a fancy price of Rs. 14 crores. Rashmika’s stardom and the director’s goodwill among the audiences helped the movie fetch a solid OTT deal.
The Girl Friend features Dheekshith Shetty of Dia and Dasara fame as the male protagonist. Rao Ramesh and Rohini play prominent characters, while Anu Emmanuel appears in a special role.
The film is being produced by Vidya Koppineedi and Dheeraj Mogilineni under the banner of Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment. Allu Aravind of Geetha Arts is the presenter, while Hesham Abdul Wahab is the music composer.
