Remakes are nothing new in the Tollywood industry. From Chiranjeevi to Pawan Kalyan, and from Sharwanand to Satyadev, many actors have remade hit films from other film industries. But, it’s strange to release a film’s remake in its original language.
The recently released movie Butta Bomma falls into this category. Everyone is aware that the film is an official remake of the Malayalam hit movie Kappela (2020), starring Anna Ben in the lead role. The Telugu remake hit the screens last month but didn’t impress audiences much.
It is also confirmed that the movie will premiere on Netflix on March 4, 2023. The interesting part is that the movie will also be available for streaming in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. This means that the remake of a Malayalam movie is releasing again in the original language. We need to see whether Malayali audiences will enjoy the remake of Kappela or not.
Butta Bomma stars Anikha Surendran, Arjun Das, and Surya Vasishtta in the lead roles. Directed by Shouree Chandrashekhar T Ramesh, the movie features music by Gopi Sundar.
