On the occasion of Vijay Antony’s birthday, ZEE5 Telugu has officially announced the OTT premiere of Vanda Devullu, an emotional family drama inspired by true events. After its theatrical release, the film is all set to arrive on ZEE5 Telugu this August. The platform will reveal the exact streaming date soon.

The announcement comes at a time when ZEE5 Telugu is enjoying the success of Parimala & Co., which has struck a chord with family audiences after its digital premiere. The positive response further highlights the platform’s focus on delivering rooted, relatable, and wholesome family entertainers.

Vanda Devullu tells the story of a widowed mother who dedicates her entire life to her son and family. In her mid-forties, she decides to embrace a new chapter by seeking companionship through remarriage. However, her decision is met with opposition from her relatives, villagers, and a society that expects a mother to live solely for her family.

The film beautifully portrays the emotional bond between a mother and her son while celebrating the sacrifices mothers make throughout their lives. More importantly, it presents a refreshing perspective by exploring a mother’s desire for love, companionship, and personal happiness beyond her family responsibilities.

“We believe audiences today are looking for stories that not only entertain but also spark conversations and reflect evolving societal realities, and Vanda Devullu does exactly that. The film blends a deeply rooted regional narrative with a progressive and thought-provoking theme, making it emotionally powerful and universally relatable. We’re excited to bring this heartfelt story to audiences across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam-speaking markets,” said Lloyd C Xavier, SVP – Marketing South and Business Head for Tamil & Malayalam.
