Dhurandhar: The Revenge is doing extremely well at the box office and has already crossed Rs. 1,600 crore worldwide. However, despite this huge success, the film is now facing a serious issue that could affect its future.
A legal case has been filed by Trimurti Films in the Bombay High Court against Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios. The issue is about the song “Rang De Lal” in the film, which is said to be very similar to the popular track “Tirchi Topiwale” from the 1989 film Tridev. Trimurti Films claims that their original song was used without proper permission.
They have asked the court to stop the use of the song in theaters, promotions, and even on digital platforms. They are also demanding a share of the film’s earnings, saying the makers used their content without rights.
If the court decides in their favour, the filmmakers may have to remove the song from the movie completely, both in theaters and on OTT. We need to wait and see how the issue will be resolved.
