While promoting Peddi, director Buchi Babu revealed that Megastar Chiranjeevi was not part of the story discussions and that he hadn’t taken any inputs from him. He added that, contrary to what many think, it is currently Ram Charan who takes the final call on choosing a subject.
“I told the script to Charan sir. He hugged me instantly and told me that we are doing the film. I narrated Uppena story to Chiranjeevi garu, but not Peddi. Not even once did Charan sir ask me to narrate the story to Chiru sir. It feels great because even my guru Sukumar sir gave the Rangasthalam narration to Megastar garu, but I didn’t,” said Buchi Babu Sana.
The director added, “After the project was okayed, Chiranjeevi garu asked me to narrate the story in bits and pieces, but I decided to show him the film in one go and watch his reaction directly.”
