Leading anchors and TV hosts Suma Kanakala and Anasuya Bharadwaj were in for a rude shock when a media house reported that there were raids in their houses owing to non-payment of GST.
Both of them took to social media to quash the reports and also criticise the lack of fact checking by news reporters.
“There is a news that gst raids have happened in my house . Which house ? Where? I have been a prompt payer of gst. I have worked hard to reach this position. Why don’t some newspapers and channels check the authenticity before posting such rubbish about me. #behuman#beresponsible (sic),” wrote Suma alongside a video of her sharing her criticism on the issue.
Another person to do the same is Anasuya Bharadwaj who wrote in her note: “Media is meant to give information.. not to give personal assumptions or views.. (sic).”
