Versatile actor Prakash Raj has surely proved his mettle as an actor with films across various languages in the country. But his laurels just don’t end there because the actor has taken his position of influence seriously and has been doing several social projects to make a difference.
It looks like he’s taking his wish to make a social change to another level and is now set to take the political plunge. For the uninitiated, the actor has been politically active in the sense that he has been voicing his opinions often, the most notable being questioning Prime Minister Modi on the death of journalist Gauri Lankesh.
While it was being expected that he’d join any political alliance that was opposing BJP, it now has emerged that he is set to contest in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls as an independent candidate.
“HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE..a new beginning .. more responsibility.. with UR support I will be contesting in the coming parliament elections as an INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. Details of the constituency soon. Ab ki baar Janatha ki SARKAR #citizensvoice #justasking in parliament too.. (sic),” posted the actor making the announcement on occasion of New Year.
