Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, continues to face delays due to censor-related hurdles. After the hearing today, the Madras High Court reserved its order without even specifying a date, leaving the film’s censor certification and release plans in a dilemma.
Vijay’s fans expected the issue to be resolved today. Unfortunately, that did not happen. During the hearing, the producer’s lawyer alleged that the Censor Board was withholding the official documents containing its remarks. In response, the CBFC stated that the producers had already been informed about the decision to refer the film to the Revision Committee.
The Chief Justice Bench of the Madras High Court reserved its orders without mentioning a timeline. As of now, a January release seems to be ruled out for this big-ticket entertainer produced by KVN Productions. Jana Nayagan is based on the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, headlined by Balakrishna and directed by Anil Ravipudi.
