Rajinikanth’s Coolie has officially crossed Rs. 404 crore gross in global box office collections, setting a new record as the highest-grossing Kollywood film in its opening weekend to date.
But, the film faced a crucial test on Monday, earning around Rs. 12 crore nett, including Rs. 2 crore nett from its Telugu version. This was a steep fall from Sunday’s earnings, and the box office trend over the next few days will be crucial in determining how the film performs in the long run.
The film also brings together a stellar lineup with Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, and more. Backed by Sun Pictures, it features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
