The theatrical trailer for young stars Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan’s soon-to-release period action romantic drama, Champion, was unveiled by Tollywood star Ram Charan at a grand event on Thursday evening. Speaking at the event, Ram Charan drew parallels between Champion and the iconic Oscar-nominated period sports drama, Lagaan.
“Champion is Lagaan with loads of action,” said the Peddi star, giving movie lovers a hint of the high-voltage and adrenaline-filled sports and action drama that awaits them in Champion. Ram Charan also lauded Roshan, saying that he looks like a Hollywood star.
The Mega Power Star went on to reminisce about his association with Champion’s producer Ashwini Dutt, who also produced his debut film Chirutha, NTR’s debut film Student No. 1, Mahesh Babu’s first film Rajakumarudu, and Allu Arjun’s launchpad film, Gangothri.
Champion marks popular yesteryear actor Nandamuri Kalyan Chakravarthy’s comeback. The film is directed by Pradeep Advaitam and produced by Priyanka Dutt under her father Ashwini Dutt’s supervision. Mickey J Meyer is the film’s music composer.
