The Nampally Criminal Court on Monday granted actor Allu Arjun permission to attend the Sandhya Theatre stampede case proceedings virtually. The case pertains to the stampede that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad in December 2024.
With the court’s approval, the actor will be allowed to attend the proceedings through video conferencing. The defense informed the court that Allu Arjun is currently occupied with a film (Raaka) shoot in Mumbai, making it difficult for him to appear in person.
During the hearing, the public prosecutor also distributed copies of the 500 page chargesheet to all 23 accused named in the case. The chargesheet reportedly outlines the alleged lapses on the part of the theatre management and Allu Arjun’s team.
The matter, however, could not proceed further as some of the co-accused failed to appear before the court due to personal reasons. As the presence of all 23 accused is required for the proceedings, the magistrate adjourned the hearing to July 29, 2026.
