Youth sensation Vijay Deverakonda has faced back-to-back setbacks over the last few years. He is now looking to redeem himself with his new film, directed by Ravi Kiran Kola of Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru fame. Ace producer Dil Raju is bankrolling this project, which marks the 59th film under his banner.
Today, the makers officially revealed the film’s title as Rowdy Janardhana, along with a special glimpse that looks highly intense and blood-soaked. The glimpse essentially sets up the nature of the protagonist, who is described as cruel as a demon. Set against Kalingapatnam backdrop, Vijay plays a ruthless gangster named Rowdy Janardhana, who fears no enemies and takes them down with sheer brutality.
Vijay Deverakonda’s transformation is striking, as he completely slips into the skin of the character. Using a cuss word, Vijay remarks that everyone aspires to become a gangster, but adds that he is built differently, pointing out that his name itself is prefixed with “Rowdy” (meaning goon).
The dark, raw, and rustic tone, coupled with Vijay’s fierce new avatar, is sure to leave audiences shocked. Star actress Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead, while Christo Xavier is composing the music.
