A few film scripts start with an actor in mind, but things change, and someone else eventually comes on board. There are many movies that prove this, and the latest example is Garividi Lakshmi.
The biopic is based on the life of Uttarandhra’s famous Burra Katha artist Reddy Vijaya Lakshmi, popularly known as Garividi Lakshmi. The story was first narrated to Sai Pallavi, but later, the script went to Nivetha Thomas and Nithya Menen as well. Director Gowri Naidu Jammu recently revealed this at the film’s success meet.
Speaking about why the actresses did not take up the role, he politely said that certain terms and conditions prevented them from doing so. Ultimately, the role was accepted by Anandhi, who aced her performance in the movie. The director also expressed happiness over the huge support from People Media Factory’s Vishwa Prasad.
The movie received appreciation, but its box-office collections have not been very encouraging. Rag Mayur, Naresh, Raasi and LB Sriram are among the other actors who played roles in the film, which features music by Charan Arjun.
