Actress Shruti Haasan’s latest appearance was in the blockbuster Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, and she also featured in the music video Inimel alongside Lokesh Kanagaraj. Today, she revealed an update about her upcoming project, Chennai Story, an international film.

Initially intended for Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shruti Haasan has stepped into the lead role in this movie written and directed by BAFTA winner Philip John. The actress took to her Instagram to announce that she joined the sets of Chennai Story this morning.

Set against the vibrant backdrops of Wales and India, Chennai Story is a captivating coming-of-age romantic comedy featuring Shruti alongside Viveik Kalra, Nimmi Harasgama, and Sahana Vasudevan.

Shruti will play Anu, a private detective, in this production by Guru Films, Ripple World Pictures, and Ie Ie Productions, supported by the British Film Institute’s (BFI) UK Global Screen Fund. Graham Frake will handle the cinematography. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project.
