Saranga Dariya, the Telangana folk song from Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Love Story, became a massive chartbuster by clocking over 100 million YouTube views within a month. Interestingly, it was the film’s director Sekhar Kammula’s wish to have a remixed version of this super hit number in one of his movies after he watched it on TV several years ago.

Sekhar recently said that a sequence in Love Story has the perfect setup to place the Saranga Dariya song and that’s why he roped in veteran lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja to slightly alter the lyrics to suit the film’s context. He added that newcomer Pawan understood the spirit of the song quite well and came up with a peppy number.

“Mangli’s singing and Sai Pallavi’s dance were the main highlights of Saranga Dariya. Our choreographer composed very good steps. I sure that the song’s video will get 10 times better reception than the lyrical video,” Sekhar said. Love Story is releasing on April 16.
