Karthi’s latest film, Sardar 2, is turning out to be one of the biggest disasters of Kollywood. Despite being a sequel to the hit film, the spy action thriller failed to put up even respectable numbers.

According to trade reports, the movie earned less than Rs. 20 crores worldwide in its first weekend, a highly disappointing performance for a film made on a huge budget and scale. Surprisingly, the biggie has struggled to perform in its home market too.

Sardar 2 didn’t succeed in grabbing the attention of audiences with its trailer, and the negative reviews from critics further sealed its fate. The film, directed by PS Mithran, also stars Ashika Ranganath, Malavika Mohanan, and SJ Suryah in key roles.
