Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar & Ajay Devgn receive legal notices; Here’s why
Published on Dec 10, 2023 10:00 pm IST

Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn are some of the biggest stars in Bollywood. The actors endorse several brands, but one such endorsement landed them in legal trouble. Getting into the details, SRK, Akshay, and Ajay Devgn have been promoting a tobacco product for some time.

Regarding this, the Allahabad court sent legal notices to the trio. The plaintiff opined that big stars like Shah Rukh, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn, who are also recipients of the Padmaa Awards, promoting such tobacco products is harmful to society. In India, it isn’t legal to promote such products directly, and hence, surrogate (indirect) advertising is used by such companies.

We need to see what will the reaction of these stars to this issue? Previously, Megastar Amitabh Bachchan too promoted a tobacco product. But he withdrew his support from the promotional campaign after a national anti-tobacco organization requested him to refrain from endorsing a pan masala brand to help prevent youngsters from getting addicted to tobacco.
