Shobu Yarlagadda: Every film need not be PAN India

Lately, there has been a discussion on social media that many films are being promoted as PAN-India when they don’t truly have nationwide appeal. Shobu Yarlagadda, who is now backing Fahadh Faasil’s Don’t Trouble The Trouble, made an interesting statement about the PAN-India culture.

A reporter asked Shobu Yarlagadda why Don’t Trouble The Trouble isn’t getting a Hindi release. The producer replied, “Not necessary. I feel releasing every film everywhere as PAN-India isn’t the right thing. It all depends on the situation, market, and potential. We feel this film is meant for the South market.”

Despite being the pioneer in taking Telugu cinema to the national level with the Baahubali franchise, Shobu Yarlagadda’s decision to keep the Fahadh Faasil starrer exclusive to the South markets is surely a wise one, as not every PAN -Indian film has struck gold in Hindi.
