Thalaivar171, the most eagerly awaited biggie in the combination of Superstar Rajinikanth and star director Lokesh Kanagaraj, is making headlines every other day. And for the past few days, reports of Malayalam Megastar Mammootty joining Thalaivar171’s cast have been going viral on social media.
Mammootty and Rajinikanth had shared screen with each other in Mani Ratnam’s yesteryear blockbuster gangster drama, Thalapathy, which released in 1991. Needless to say, the ongoing reports of both the veteran superstars’ latest collaboration have left their fans overjoyed.
However Mammootty has quickly ended the speculations around his inclusion in Thalaivar171. In a latest interview while promoting his new film, Kaathal The Core, Mammootty said that no one from Thalaivar171 team has approached him with a role in the movie.
Mammootty went on to say that he is always available if and when he is offered a role in the Rajini-starrer. We will have to wait and see if Lokesh is planning to pull off a major casting coup by roping in Mammootty opposite Rajinikanth for Thalaivar171. Produced on Sun Pictures banner, this as-yet-untitled movie will feature Anirudh Ravichander’s soundtrack.
