Meanwhile, the latest buzz is that Ajith’s wife and former actress, Shalini is in talks for a prominent role in the movie. If the news turns into reality eventually, Ponniyin Selvan marks the re-entry of Shalini into the films after almost two decades.
Being produced by Mani Ratnam himself, Ponniyin Selvan is based on the Tamil epic written by Kalki with the same title. AM Ratnam is the music composer for this magnum opus.
