Steven Spielberg’s latest outing, Disclosure Day, isn’t performing up to expectations at the Indian box office. In its opening weekend, the movie collected about Rs. 6.3 crores nett. The reports are below par, with critics feeling that the film is not up to Spielberg’s usual standards. Generally, Sundays witness a slight jump in collections even when the talk isn’t favorable, but Disclosure Day saw a steep decline.
On Monday, the movie crashed completely, earning just Rs. 55 lakhs nett and taking its 4-day total to Rs. 6.85 crores nett. Considering the low start, the film needed a strong jump in collections over the weekend, followed by a stable run on weekdays.
However, the trajectory of Disclosure Day has been quite poor, and it is heading towards becoming a major disappointment at the Indian box office. The sci-fi thriller, starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colin Firth in the lead roles, has collected $94 million globally so far against a budget of $115 million.
