Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947, produced by Aamir Khan, locks Independence Day week release

Sunny Deol’s recent film Border 2, the sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border, ended up as a commercial hit at the box office. Up next, the senior actor will be seen in Lahore 1947, a film set against the backdrop of the Partition, one of the most significant events following India’s independence.

The biggie has been announced for an Independence Day week release. Lahore 1947 will hit cinemas on August 13, 2026, as confirmed by the makers in a public note. The film is produced by Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

It also features Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol, and Ali Fazal in significant roles. A. R. Rahman is composing the music, while Javed Akhtar serves as the lyricist. The cinematography is handled by Santosh Sivan.
