Telugu cinema delivered an impressive performance at the 72nd National Film Awards, securing wins across nine categories. From mainstream blockbusters to critically acclaimed films, the Telugu film industry was rewarded for its excellence in storytelling, technical craftsmanship, and performances.
Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD bagged the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award. The film also bagged rhe Best Production Designer award for Nithin Zihani Choudhary, recognizing its grand visual world and production design.
Niharika Konidela-backed Committee Kurrollu was named the Best Telugu Feature Film. The film also won Best Makeup Artist, with P. Ravikumar receiving the honour for his work.
Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, fetched two awards. Sukumar won Best Screenplay, while Deepali Noor and Sheetal Sharma shared the Best Costume Designer award for their work on the massive blockbuster.
Venky Atluri received the Best Dialogue Writer award for Lucky Baskhar. Meanwhile, 31: Chinna Katha Kaadu won the Best Children’s Film award. The film’s young talent Arundev Pothula was also honoured with the Best Child Artist.
