Game Changer, starring Ram Charan in the lead role, became one of the biggest disasters in Telugu cinema. The film, directed by Shankar, failed to cross Rs. 200 crores gross at the box office in its long run, resulting in huge losses to all parties involved. More than the film, fans were deeply upset with the album’s failure. Not even one song clicked in a big way, and this is one more reason for the low hype.

However, Game Changer’s music composer, Thaman, blamed choreographers for the album’s failure. In a recent podcast, Thaman said, “A song is just not about music. I can pull off 25 million views. A melody song can bring in even 50 million views. Post that, it’s up to the choreographer’s execution. The song has to work on the reels. The choreographers have to design the right steps.”

Thaman added, “None of the songs in Game Changer had a strong hook step, be it Jaragandi, Raa Macha Macha, or Hyraanaa. In Ala Vaikunthapurramulo, every song has a proper hook step. The responsibility lies both on the dance master and the hero. If the dance steps are good, the cinematographer will capture it neatly. This is the aspect where Game Changer faltered. People didn’t connect much to the songs due to lack of hook steps.”
