A day before Thandel arrives in cinemas, Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi was released in theaters in Tamil and Telugu and the big-budget movie falls flat at the box office, lacking promotions is one of the biggest reasons.
Since the day Naga Chaitanya starrer romantic drama arrived, the movie outshined Vidaamuyarchi and the tickets booked for them are a clear example of it. For instance, in the last 24 hours, Thandel tickets sales are close to 259K tickets while Vidaamuyarchi adjusted with 145K tickets, which is low for a star hero’s film.
This proves that making cinema is not enough but taking it to the audience with promotional activities is also crucial to bag success at the box office. Ultimately, beyond the star power, it is the content that speaks volumes.
As there is no real competition for Thandel, it is enjoying good occupancy everywhere and we need to see what records it will make in the days to come.
