Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited films to look forward to. The demand is strong in India too, and as a mark of respect to Indian fans, Nolan recently visited the country and promoted his epic fantasy action drama.
At the moment, The Odyssey is expected to gross about Rs. 20 crores in India on the opening day. However, trade reports state that ticket sales are trailing behind Nolan’s Oppenheimer in India due to the premium pricing. Especially in premium formats, including IMAX, ticket prices are said to be extremely high, leading to a decline in footfalls.
However, the reports also suggest that The Odyssey is tracking for a bigger opening than Oppenheimer, as advances have picked up pace, and with the Average Ticket Price (ATP) being much higher than that of the biographical drama. If The Odyssey clicks with the audience, we could witness a blast at the box office.
