There is still a month left before the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, but the film is already shattering box-office records. The movie sold a mind-blowing 28,000 tickets at the U.K.’s largest screen, BFI IMAX, within the first 24 hours.
This marks the venue’s highest-ever first-day sales record, with the gross nearing $1 million. The Odyssey’s first-day BFI IMAX sales are more than double those of Dune: Part Two, which grossed $490,000 in its first 24 hours, while Nolan’s previous directorial Oppenheimer earned $340,000 in the same timeframe.
The extraordinary box-office trend of The Odyssey has indeed taken netizens by surprise. The pre-sales are excellent in India as well. Matt Damon, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron play the lead roles.
