Nani’s The Paradise has added another feather to its cap at the overseas box office. The Srikanth Odela directorial crossed the $2 million gross mark in North America by the end of its first weekend, marking another notable milestone in its theatrical run.
The achievement also puts The Paradise in the company of Nani’s previous $2 million North America grossers, Dasara and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. Dasara crossed the $2 million mark in its lifetime run, while Saripodhaa Sanivaaram became Nani’s second film to achieve the feat. With The Paradise, Nani has now made it three films to cross the $2 million mark in the territory.
The achievement comes despite the mixed word of mouth surrounding the film. While the response has been largely divided, The Paradise has continued to find traction at the ticket windows and has made its presence felt in one of its key international markets.
The film’s worldwide gross has also moved close to the Rs. 150 crore mark, making The Paradise Nani’s highest-grossing film to date. After a notable opening weekend, all eyes are now on the film’s weekday hold and whether it can sustain the momentum it has built.
Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, while Mohan Babu appears as the antagonist. Sonali Kulkarni plays Nani’s mother, and Raghav Juyal portrays Mohan Babu’s son. Produced by SLV Cinemas, the film features music by Anirudh Ravichander.
