Prabhas’ The Raja Saab hit the big screens yesterday, and the movie opened to mixed reviews and talk. The horror fantasy, directed by Maruthi, opened with paid premieres in India, but in Telangana, bookings were opened too late for the premieres, and the number of shows was also very limited.
Even bookings for the first day opened only after midnight, but that didn’t stop The Raja Saab from taking a strong start. The film collected Rs. 22.5 crores gross on day 1 (including limited premieres) in this territory, and these numbers prove why Nizam is considered Prabhas’ forte.
By the time bookings opened in Telangana, word of mouth had already spread. However, Prabhas’ massive stardom helped this Maruthi directorial register a good opening in the region. Produced by People Media Factory, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Zarina Wahab, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhhi Kumar in key roles.
