The four-day marathon Income Tax raids on prominent Tollywood producer Dil Raju’s residential and office properties have finally concluded. Following the IT raids, Dil Raju interacted with the media and put an end to the ongoing speculations about his tax evasion, black money, and Game Changer’s fake collections controversy.
Dil Raju has claimed that not even Rs 20 lakh in cash was found from his property during the raids. He went on to reveal that the IT officials only found Rs 5 lakh in cash from him, Rs 4.50 lakh in cash from his brother Sirish, Rs 6.50 lakh from his daughter Hanshitha’s residence, and Rs 2.50 lakh from his office. Dil Raju further clarified that he showed valid documents as proof of all that cash.
“We haven’t purchased or invested in any properties in the past 5 years. We informed all our financial transactions to the IT officials. Our documents were genuine, and we were given a clean chit by the IT sleuths,” said the Game Changer and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam producer. He added that the raids are part of the IT department’s protocol and that the raids were also conducted on several other Tollywood personalities.
When questioned by the media about the black money allegations, Dil Raju said that there is no black money in the film industry these days. “More than eighty percent of the audience is buying tickets online. So, where will the black money come from?” he retorted. Talking about Game Changer’s alleged fake collections, Dil Raju has left it to the Telugu Film Producer’s Council (TFPC) to verify.
