Dhurandhar and Dacoit

The hype surrounding Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 is sky-high. Movie buffs across the nation are eagerly looking forward to watching the backstory of Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer’s character) and his dominance in Lyari. The sequel is set for a mammoth release on March 19, 2026, in multiple Indian languages.
Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s romantic action thriller Dacoit was also announced for a March 19 release, but the latest buzz in trade circles suggests that Dacoit will be postponed to avoid a clash with the Bollywood juggernaut.

It is being said that Dacoit will now arrive on April 10, 2026. An official confirmation from the makers is still awaited. Dhurandhar initially created havoc in Hindi, but with its OTT release, it has started gaining more traction among the masses in South India as well, and the sequel is now well-positioned for a PAN-Indian release. Especially the hype in Telugu is stupendous.

Avoiding a clash with such a heavyweight will only work in Dacoit’s favour, as the Adivi Sesh starrer is also aiming to strike a chord with Hindi audiences. Dacoit was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, and with Dhurandhar 2 set for a March 19 release, the Ranveer Singh starrer would obviously be the first choice for Indian audiences. Hence, avoiding the clash will help Dacoit reach its full potential.
