Veteran Telugu actor and producer G. V. Narayana Rao passed away in Hyderabad on August 26, 2026, at the age of 73 following health complications. He leaves behind a career spanning five decades across Telugu cinema and television.
Narayana Rao made his acting debut with K. Balachander’s Anthuleni Katha (1976), earning the Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor. He went on to appear in several notable films, including Oka Oori Katha, Chattaniki Kallu Levu, Gang Leader and Hitler, and shared screen space with leading stars including Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth.
As a producer, he was associated with films including Chiranjeevi-starrer Yamudiki Mogudu (1988). He also remained active on television through popular serials such as Pasupu Kumkuma and Sundarakanda, while continuing to take up character roles in his later years.
