Popular Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, well-known to Telugu audiences for his roles in Dasara, Devara, and Daaku Maharaaj, was arrested by police in the sensational Kochi drugs case on Saturday. Shine has been absconding ever since he fled a hotel during a police raid to unearth a drug scandal.
Shine was interrogated by the officials for 4 hours, after which he was arrested under sections 27 (consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During the interrogation, Shine reportedly rubbished Malayalam actress Vincy Aloshious’ allegations of sexual harassment during the filming of Soothravakayam, calling them fake and a deliberate conspiracy to frame him. Shine reportedly admitted to having consumed methamphetamine and cannabis in the past.
