Recently, actor-filmmaker Vishnu Manchu announced his ambitious project, Kannappa. To be made with a huge budget, this mythological magnum opus is rumored to feature pan-India stars Prabhas and Nayanthara as Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathi respectively.
This afternoon, Vishnu took to X and revealed that Kannappa has finally commenced its shoot in New Zealand. “This dream has been seven years in the making, and its realization is a testament to the divine blessings of Lord Shiva and Parvathi Devi (sic),” Vishnu tweeted. He went on to reveal that 600 cast and crew members will land in New Zealand to bring Kannappa to life.
Vishnu also revealed that Kannappa will feature several superstars in special roles, but went on to urge everyone to not leak the names of the actors playing key roles in the movie, indirectly confirming Prabhas and Nayanthara’s cameos.
Kannappa is being directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh of the Mahabharata Hindi series fame. Veteran actor and Vishnu’s dad Mohan Babu is producing the movie on Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory banners. Manisharma and Stephen Devasi are composing the soundtrack.
