Kannappa is an ambitious pan-world film being made on a grand scale with a budget of Rs. 140 crore. Starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, the film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and is set for a grand release on April 25, 2025.
In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Vishnu shared insights about the project. Speaking about Prabhas and Mohanlal, he revealed that both actors eagerly joined the film, driven by their deep respect and admiration for his father, Dr. Mohan Babu.
Addressing their remuneration, Vishnu stated that neither Prabhas nor Mohanlal accepted any payment for their roles. Recalling his conversation with Mohanlal, he shared how the legendary actor playfully remarked, “So you think you’ve become such a big boy now?” when asked about his fee. Such gestures reflect the humility of both Mohanlal and Prabhas.
In the film, Prabhas portrays Rudra, while Mohanlal takes on the role of Kirata. Produced by 24 Frames Factory and Ava Entertainment, this mythological epic also features Mohan Babu, Akshay Kumar, Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kajal Aggarwal, Preity Mukhundhan, and Vishnu Manchu’s daughters, Ariaana and Viviana Manchu, in significant roles.
