The other day, the makers of Lenin, starring Akhil Akkineni, announced that they are postponing the release to June 26 from May 1 to make way for Peddi. Currently, there is buzz in industry circles that Peddi might not make it to April 30 due to pending work.
If Peddi doesn’t arrive as per schedule, then the Lenin makers can easily come back to the May 1 date, and there will also be ample time for the promotional campaign. Since May 1 is a holiday, Akkineni fans don’t want Lenin to miss that date and are requesting producers Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna Akkineni to stick to the originally announced plan.
Also, when a biggie is shifted, there will be more scope for other mid-range films to perform well at the box office. Now, the odds are in Lenin’s favour, and we have to see when the makers choose to release the rural drama. Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead, while Murali Kishore Abburu is the director.
