Tamil actor Vishal made his directorial debut with Magudam, released as Makutam in Telugu. Despite the anticipation around his first outing as a filmmaker, the action drama had an underwhelming theatrical run and is now heading to OTT.

Backed by RB Choudary’s Super Good Films and Vishal Film Factory, the film stars Dushara Vijayan and Anjali as the female leads, alongside John Vijay, Jayaprakash and Thambi Ramaiah in key roles. Magudam is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video tomorrow, September 11, 2026.

The film will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, giving it a wider reach across multiple markets. It remains to be seen whether Magudam can find a stronger response among OTT audiences.
