Ameesha Patel, one of Bollywood’s well-known actresses, became popular with blockbuster films like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Gadar. With a career spanning more than two decades, she continues to remain in the public eye. She is now back in the news due to a legal development related to an old event dispute case from 2017.
A Moradabad court has reportedly issued a non-bailable warrant against her in connection with an event appearance and cheque bounce dispute. According to reports, the complaint says she accepted payment to attend a private function but did not appear, and a cheque issued during the settlement later bounced. Different reports mention different amounts in the dispute, ranging from a few lakhs to over Rs. 14 lakh. The warrant was reportedly issued after she did not appear for multiple court hearings.
In a recent Instagram statement, Ameesha Patel said the matter is very old and already settled. She stated that a settlement deed was signed and the full agreed amount was paid to the complainant. The Badri actress called the fresh allegations false and said her legal team is taking appropriate legal action. The case is now under judicial review, and further clarity is expected after the next hearing.
