Allari Naresh is back with a comedy caper called Bangaru Bullodu. The film will release this weekend and on this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
Why did you choose the name Bangaru Bullodu?
As my role and the film revolves around gold loans, we had so so many options in mind. But one fine day, our producer, Anil Sunkara suggested the title Bangaru Bullodu. We loved the title and felt it as apt. But there is absolutely no connection with Balayya garu’s film except for the title.
What made you choose a comedy film after a long time?
It has been a long time since I have done a village comedy. I have been doing some urban-based comedy but such old school comedy films in small towns are rare now. So, when we came to know about this story of how a man cheated with gold loans, we built the story around it with fun and entertainment. Our film does not have spoof comedy.
Working experience with director P V Giri?
He is a very stubborn director and wants things on a perfect level for his films. As my producer wanted to shoot the film in a set with good values, Giri wanted a small bank and chose a real-life location for it. He has done a lot of hard work and narrated the film in a good way.
Why was this film delayed so much?
Things got a bit disturbed as I was shooting Maharshi. I had a different look for that film and as it was a big film, things got delayed a bit. Then I had to wait for this film’s shoot which also got delayed. Finally, when we got ready for a 2020 summer release, the lockdown happened and now we are here.
Did you showcase your remix song to Balakrishna garu?
Once again, this song’s idea was once again from Anil Sunkara garu. We wanted to shoot this song in a special manner and that is why we shot the song after the film is complete. So many singers tried to sing his song and finally, Rvanth did justice to it.
How are you balancing your career with different films?
I am here for a long time and want to prove myself as an actor. There is so much to explore now as the content has become wide. That is the reason, I am doing films like Nadhi which will showcase me in a new manner. I am game to do OTT shows, negative roles, and comedy. I want to be a versatile actor.
When will Naadhi come out?
This film is going to be special and many are asking me about it. The post-production is going on in full swing and we will very soon announce the release date. The film is a serious drama and I have pinned a lot of hopes on it.
Future Projects?
I have okayed four stories and am doing another film with Naadi director. For now, my concentration is on this film and Naandi. Very soon, I will announce few more projects.
