Razesh Danda, the producer behind hit movies like Samajavaragamana and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, is celebrating his birthday tomorrow. We had the opportunity to sit down with him for a brief interview on this occasion. Here is the transcript.
How are you feeling about being a successful producer?
I am really happy about the success of my recent ventures. Thanks to everyone for making them hits at the box office. I want to entertain audiences with good concepts in the coming days.
Why are you solely producing Bachchala Malli?
I liked Bachchala Malli’s story very much. The movie is set in the 90s and is a blend of action, father sentiment, and a love story. So, I decided to produce it solely. Almost 50% of the shoot has been over, and we will conclude the entire shoot with the next schedule about to begin in May. We have plans to release the movie in July.
You are producing movies with mid-range heroes and scoring hits. What about biggies?
It’s not about a small or big hero. If I believe the content, I will go for it, and the actor and other issues will come later. In 2025, I will make a big movie with a star hero, and that will be my first pan-Indian movie. I will announce the details later.
Do you fund a project, or are you also involved in other activities?
I will produce and also oversee the project. Luckily, I have maintained a good rapport with the actors I have worked with, and there was no trouble until today.
What kind of genres do you like the most?
I love all genres, but if you asked me to mention a specific genre, I would say action comedy.
What about the rumours on your next film with Sundeep Kishan?
They are baseless. Of course, it is a different version of what writer Prasanna Kumar developed for Chiranjeevi, and as circulated on social media, it is not a remake of Bro Daddy.
Tell us about your future projects
For now, I am doing Bachchala Malli with Allari Naresh. My other movie with Sundeep Kishan will go on floors in May. Also, a project with Kiram Abbavaram, directed by debutant Shyam, is in the pre-production stage. More details about all these projects will be updated soon.
