Gaali Sampath is ready for a release tomorrow and on this occasion, we caught up with hero Sree Vishnu for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

What made you say yes to Anil Ravipudi?

Anil Ravipudi has been quite supportive of my work for a long time. One fine day, he called me and narrated this line. After a while, his team came up with the full story. The moment I heard Rajendra prasad garu is playing my dad, there was no looking back.

Whose story is Gaali Sampath? Is it yours or Rajendra Prasad’s?

The story has me and Rajendra Prasad doing key roles. The story depends on both of us and the script is incomplete without each of us. The main conflict point between the father and son is simply superb.

What is your character in the film?

I play an easy-go-lucky youth who is quite responsible in life. So, what happens when a person like me tries to change his father who goes off track. The main emotion between me and my dad in the film is an ego clash.

Working with an actor like Rajendra Prasad?

My acting has surely improved after working with him. Post the shoot, I bonded with him quite well and we discussed the characters a lot. I asked him so many questions about life and career and how he did so many films. Our chemistry is the biggest highlight of the film.

Your acting style is different. How do you prepare for your roles?

The moment I land on the sets, I forget who the actor is and treat them as characters. This was observed by Prasad garu who also asked me why I was not discussing anything with him. But that is how I work. I go with a blank and open mind and do my roles.

Will you ever do a commercial film?

I feel that any film that brings money is commercial for me. I am always trying to do films that are natural and if you observe, most of the films that I do have strong family emotions. If the story has strong emotions, I will surely do.

Future Projects

We have done shooting of Raja Raja Chora. Arjuna Falguna is 60% complete and I am doing a cop-based drama and two other films. People are loving my work and are accepting my films. This is so welcoming and gives me a lot of encouragement.
