Vijay Antony’s upcoming social drama, Indrasena, is scheduled for a November 30th release. On this occasion, we had a small chat session with him. Here is the transcript.
Q) Tell us about the film?
A) Indrasena is all about two brothers. The film’s basic plot is inspired by some real-life incidents and the emotion between the siblings will be the highlight of the film.
Q) Your are doing a dual role in this film, Tell us about it?
A) I’m playing a proper dual role for the first time in career. Nowadays, with this upgraded technology doing a double is not all a tough task. I tried my best to show variation in both the characters and hope everyone will like it.
Q) Why are you not doing commercial films?
A) In my personal view, all my films are commercial entertainers. If a film is doing well and if the audience is accepting, it automatically means it’s a commercial film. There is no specific parameter for the word commercial film.
Q) Any specific reasons to produce films on your own banner?
A) I feel very comfortable in producing my films as I need not restrict myself to any external factors or burdens.
Q) What is your main moto in showing first ten minutes of the film before its release?
A) It’s a new type of promotional activity. I feel that the entire story of the film will not be revealed in first ten minutes and instead creates curiosity about the film for the audience.
Q) The word GST is replaced with EMI in one of the songs, did you face any problems from censor board?
A) No. As an individual everyone has their own opinion but coordinating every department and running the country is not a small task. Our intention is not to project GST is wrong way but due to a major controversy raised due to a recent film, censor board has asked to replace it with an alternative word.
Q) Any plans to direct a film?
A) No. As of now, I’m happy as an actor, musician, and editor. Many directors are coming up with good scripts and am liking them. So there is no idea to enter into direction.
Q) When can we expect a straight Telugu film?
A) Very soon. I’m listening to scripts and will make it as soon as possible.
Q) Upcoming projects?
A) As of now, I’m doing two projects in Tamil and will let you know complete details soon.
