After RGV’s Anukshanam, Vishnu Manchu is gearing up with his latest film ‘Erra Bus’. Veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao makes his comeback with this family drama which is slated to release this Friday. On this occasion, we caught up with Vishnu for an detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.
Q) How did this project materialize ?
A) Dasari uncle called me up one day and said we are doing a film together. Once I met him personally, he told me about the Tamil film ‘Manja Pai’ and said that he is remaking it. I gave my nod, and within no time the film went on sets.
Q) How was it working with Dasari for the first time ?
A) It was a wonderful feeling working with him. He has directed the film supremely well, and has also given a superb performance during the climax. I feel very proud to be a part of a film like this.
Q) How is Dasari as a director ?
A) His vast work speaks for himself, and I am too small an actor to comment about his work.
Q) Have you done any changes for the remake version. What are the highlights of this film ?
A) We have done a lot of changes for the Telugu audience. When compared to the original, performances in this film are 100 times better. The last 20 minutes are the major highlights of the film.
Q) Tell us something about your character in this film ?
A) I play Dasari’s grandson who gets stuck between him and his lover. I had a lot of scope for acting, and have reinvented myself with this film.
Q) Tell us something about your project with Deva Katta and your future production ventures ?
A) Devakatta’s project is a Tamil remake, and is currently in pre-production stage. I am also producing a film titled ‘Singham 123’ with Sampoornesh Babu.
Q) There are a few opinions that Dasari cannot make a film for today’s generation. What is your comment on this ?
A) Dasari is such a genius that there is no end to his creativity and talent. I compare Dasari with Hollywood filmmaker Clint Eastwood who is 10 years elder than him and still continues acting and directing films.
Q) Will your performance in the film fetch you any award ?
A) I don’t believe in awards, and there is no point that an actor is great only if he wins awards.
Q) Finally, What can audience expect from Erra Bus ?
A) Each and every member of the family can happily watch this family entertainer which has equal amount of sentiment and comedy.
