It looks like director Harish Shankar is exploring all the rustic and earthy terrains in the Rayalaseema region for his ongoing crime comedy, Valmiki. The unit had completed a crucial schedule in Kurnool recently. And today, Harish and his team reached Ananthapur for the next major schedule.

Valmiki has Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde and Tamil hero Atharvaa Murali in lead roles. The film is an official remake of the acclaimed Tamil gangster comedy, Jigarthanda. Varun Tej will be seen as a menacing gangster in the movie, and his rugged avatar became a hot topic when the teaser was released last month.
Ram and Gopi Achanta are bankrolling Valmiki. Mickey J Meyer is the music composer. The film is slated to hit screens on September 6.
